Lowering G3
I'm looking to lower my G3. I want about 1-2inch drop. I want a COMFORTABLE ride while having a nice look.
I was looking at:
Tokico Illumina's shocks
H&R Sport springs
Where do you think the best place to buy these are?
Ebay has:
Tokico $385shipped
H&R $145shipped
from Kuruma Motoring (I trust them since I've ordered from them a few times)
Any input on the Springs and Shocks I listed? Is this setup good? I want a comfortable ride, but I don't want to spend a ton of $$$.
btw, I'm riding on falken ziex tires w/ LS mesh rims.
edit: looking to spend about $600max little over won't hurt though

I think most people here are tired of hearing me rant about H&R Sport springs.
Expect them to drop more than you had originally planned.

for roughly as the koni yellows and GC's, you can get the koni yellows with the koni springs for 699 from king motorsports. Awsome ride, dropped my car about 1.5 inches, variable to 1.75.

From what I hear a Koni/GC setup is better than a Koni coilover setup. You also get your choice of spring rate if you go w/ GC's.

I have an ITR lip on mine, too. When I was in my last year of school this past year, I parked in a parking garage every day. I had H&R Sport springs at the time and this is what I had to deal with every day:

Sorry, I'm really newbie to lowering my car. What about Tein SS Coilovers?
http://www.prostreetonline.com...overs/
Would I still need springs? I would assume so.

tein ss come w/ spring..you need to use your old tophats. they ride good on the street. autox not the best. i would go w/ something cheaper if i could do again. gc/koni...i like to autox and the teins seem like overpriced jdm hype.... to me at least and i have them...

I have the KONI Sport 1130 kit installed on my GSR.
The car is 40mm lower, the ride is noticeably firmer than stock, but the best part is that it comes with the Sport externally adjustable dampers, so you can dial in more or less damping as needed.
Not sure of pricing though. But KONI quality is nearly unquestionable.

I intalled my H&R sport springs with kyb agx adjustable shocks 2 months ago. Very happy with the drop there is maybe 1 and a half finger wheel gap at the front wheels. Rides very nicely (sorry no pic's)
illuminas are chill.
5 way adjustable
i have, me likes.
as for springs i dunno. i would suggest a drop more than 1.5. its the minimum for your car to looked dropeed @ all.
i dropped mine 1.5 and ppl ask me if i *will* lower my car...
i just sigh...

Ride height adjustability up to 4"
Also, they go for around $650 for the full setup

I just installed a set on these on my 2000 gs-r and there great. Would definetly recommend them

IMHO a Koni/GC setup is a much better value: it costs less, you can choose your spring rates, and the quality is of the highest out there.
Don't be put off by the fact that GC's are sleeve-type coilovers. If you get the Koni-specific GC's, it fits on the Koni shock body exactly and sits on the shock's snap ring (instead of the regular spring perch) and is for all intents and purposes, a true coilover setup.

No, the coil sleeves are by ground control and the shocks are konis. Also if you are able to spend around $600 I suggest you check out the Omni street full-coilovers. I have heard nothing but great things about them.

i have tokiko illuminas with GC coil overs.. rides not TOO bad. but to be honest i have nothing to compare it to. but i think a lot of ride quality also depends on what tires you use and what size.
