Default OT: Is it a rule that if you are a cop, you have to pull people over for stupid ****?

I am tired of being harrassed by cops. I dont even have an exhaust on my car. I have been pulled over twice today, once just half hour ago at 4 am coming in to work.

I dont have my front tag on my car because the holes dont fit the JDM conversion, and I havent drilled them out yet. Pulling someone over for no front tag seems pretty gay to me? I dont get it. Why not focus more on people who are actually speeding, and swerving all over the road? Instead, I constantly see people getting pulled over for TINT and EXHAUST. That type of **** just frustrates me.

Oh and I should add that I got pulled over in the PENTAGON parking lot at 4 am by the rent-a-cops they have working here. They have their own police force, but they are not real police.

Im sure other people have shitty experiences constantly like I do..?

You guys have those stop light cameras and highway cameras in VA? That could be the reason for the no front plate. If you run a light or a toll booth or something, they take pics of the front and rear license plate.

Say no to parking lot pimpin'!

yeah we have those, but what we also have are state troopers who are bred to be dickfaces it seems like.

They will literally go wayyyy out of their way to pull you over. 2 weeks ago I was headed home in my WRX that i had, and a State boy was coming the other way. He busted a bitch (at like 830 in the morning in rush hour traffic) to pull me over to give me a WARNING for my tint

I guess there was nothing else better to do right then. But this is common. If it is the end of the month, there is almost no point in driving cause they will find some reason to pull you over. Its such bullshit.

Pigs are told to harrass:

- coloured people
- young people in expensive/hopped up cars

^ Do you fit that description?

IF your car has something that should be there and it does not then your simply asking for trouble.
Nothing more nothing less.

Put the plate on and stop hangin out in odd areas, I beet you won't get pulled over as much.

Oh come on dude...Like I am the only one that has something on their car that shouldnt be there..or the other way around.. Thats crazy. I bet half the people on this board have some kind of mod that is highly illegal in their state. I mean ****, tint is illegal in pretty much every state, yet how many people have it..?

What would you like me to say,, No plates won't get you in trouble?

Be serious, I have tinted windows on my car but I'm willing to pay for the ticket if it's issued and I'm found guilty...
As for exterior things on the car, what more could stand out more to a cop then not having plates?
A muffler?, stupid wheels?, broken lights?, a sticker that says "The law bites"

Take the degree of punishment and deal with it. There is nothing you or anyone can do after the fact.

As for the Odd place... I did not see that you work there.

Living in VA, you should know that cops enforce the "stupid" laws very strictly. I've been pulled over for not having a front tag several times (when I lived in VA). I've also gotten the tint tickets, and the warnings for exhaust and HID's, blah blah. VA laws suck bad, and there's nothing you can do to change them, so you just have to slap that front tag on there and be done with it.

If you dont break the law they dont have any real reason to pull you over.

i actually sold my wrx because i was getting pulled over almost daily...literally. i dont know what was going on but every single time i saw a cop i would get pulled over. many times for no reasons at all. i would get pulled overfor absolutly nothing and the cops would just shine there lights around in my car and say they were just doing random checks to make sure there were no drunk drivers(fair enough but why did i get pulled over all the time for this) i had at least 3 tickets for 1-5 over which i guess is fair also but seriously who gets pulled over for 1-5 over and actually gets ticketed. and finally the last straw i was driving to work at 7:30am and two cars RACE past me easily doin 100+ and im just cruisin at the speed limit and i see a cop pass me and turn around and said to myself,"those guys are gonna get screwed for driving that fast". so the cop has his sirens on so i pull into the right lane so he can go around me and he pulls me over! and tells me i was doing 85 in a 40. i get into an argument with the officer because im already pissed about getting pulled over all the time and this time i was 100 percent completely innocent. the cop says he has me on radar blah blah blah. i take it to court to fight it. judge sides with cop. so i decided that car was tagged or cursed or something and it was hopeless to drive anymore so i sold it

If you guys dont do anything wrong and your cars are tagged/inspected properly you wont get pulled over - it really is that simple.

I have a hard time beliving that people that say they "get pulled over all the time just to be hassled" werent doing anything wrong or there wasnt something wrong with their car. I have been pulled three times over the past 4 years, all for tag/inspection issues, 100% my fault. I took the ticket if i got one and paid it. Take responsibility.

Poor thing... it's horrible when the PoPo pick on people too lazy to obey the law.

You know that missing tags and loud exhausts will get you pulled -- leaving them this way SHOULD signify that you accept the risk. Maybe they didn't get the memo that you were special.

[edit] I personally despise law enforcement, but I don't go around bitching about it. I bought a civic hatchback a few years ago that came with no muffler, chrome wheels and APC stickers all over it. I drove it to work the first day without fixing all the crap and got a seatbelt ticket from a cop who was clearly dying for a reason to pull me. It annoyed me, but I was asking for it with the car like that.

Did i miss where I said i had a ricer exhaust that was SUPER LOUD?

I have the stock exhaust on there. Truth be told, I just got the car, and I've been so busy w/ work and other things that I just havent had the actual time to drill the holes through the plate (which i am going to do today)

Im am bitching but in the same sense I'm not. If you guys lived around where we are at you would see that we do get pulled over for various reasons, sometimes just to haggle us and see if they can find something illegal. I'm not whining, I just want to know if its just like that here...or pretty much everywhere to people who drive cars like ours.

I'm not asking for special treatment, and I dont go around doing illegal **** constantly so I dont expect to get pulled.

I lived there for 25 years.

I never got pulled over unless it was for a reason - being someplace i shouldnt be, speeding, tags/inspection, etc...... drove cars with loud exhausts, wheels, lowered, ricerocket ITR, bmw.... take some ffing responsibility for yourself.

I have tint, exhaust, HIDs and no front plate. The only times I've been pulled over, it's because I was doing something wrong. *shrug*

You should be glad that the security is doing their job and wondering why you were at the pentagon at 4am instead of complaining about being 'hassled'.

It's not too hard to believe the cops like to target young people in nice cars. They generally have no political voice, no experience and not a lot of money to fight the system. Do you think cops pull over lawyers and doctors in 911's and M3's often?

6 months ago I got pulled over for 'passing on the shoulder' in my '94 Civic hatch (which is a total sleeper) when I was merging into bumper-to-bumper traffic during rush hour. I wasn't anywhere close to speeding (50km/h) or driving off the pavement and onto the shoulder, but I got pulled over by a cop regardless. I feel I did absolutely nothing wrong. But what can you do but fight it and hope the courts see it your way.
