how come nobody ever swap...
it used to be an f20, now it is an f22...but this would sound just gay..an s2200?? s2000 is much better sounding, but I dont know why people dont do it, maybe because it wouldnt be worth it, and too much cash to convert your civic to RWD

The 04' S2000 has a 2.2 liter motor, the code is F22C1.

Oh brother. Sombody presents some info that is new to you guys, and you jump all over them saying its "missinformation" and cry foul. It sounds like you fools need to stay up on honda news.
I think it would be "The ****" if you could pull off a RWD civic with a F22C. The main problem you would run into is the civics front & rear crossmembers arn't going to alow you to just bolt the s2000 drivetrain in w/ custom mounts. You are going to need to make some custom subframes & have the rear one welded in. This takes serious engineering skills.
P.S. If you want to know what kind of power the 04 & 05 S2000 makes, look it up.

Okay, i'm still new here, but i'm gonna throw my .02 in because I just read some stuff about RWD conversions.
I don't remember which mag it was, but there was a RWD conversion made to a civic, using the diff/axles from the CRV. Can't that be used along with the F22C1 to create a Civic RWD beast? I'm sure this is not a simple task to accomplish, but surely possible.

this subject ahs been covered in depth many times.
THE is an f20 swapped ef hatch show car...
i have pics at home.
and you can make a civic rear and awd..
but its stupid for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
and it would take ALOT.
I all for civics, but for that money why not buy an s2000.....
thats prolly why its not done.
just me .02

Without a doubt it's big bucks, but mos def possible. There's a barber shop I go to, and the guy's son, Phil, he's got a brand spanking new Si, white, slightly moded but I haven't really looked enough to see what he moded. Well, he want's to do the CRV diff swap, but I don't know how serious he is. He says he works with HIN, and showed me a business card and all, but still, I just met him so I don't know how legit this is. I know he had 4 different Civic's, all HB, and i've seen what he had in there... some nice $hit. I'll let you all know if anything happens with this, and give you all updates if it actually happens.
hmm if i remember right i saw a s2k motor in a crx on h-t if i remember right it was the post about a small block into a crx and one of the pics was a f20(correct code for s2k ?) so its been done

do a little searching on h-t and google about block stamps for honda motors

MONEY YOU DUM DUM HEAD. you think you're the first guy to think of this 'genius' setup?
The F20A and the F22B are from accords, the F20C and the F22C1 are s2000 models. the 20 and the 22 both have the same power output, but the 2.2 obviously produces more torque because it has more displacement. If someone needs to explain this to you, don't bother reading further. The redline was lowered to 8,000 but the 2.2 still made the same peak power.
From here you have 2 Options: Destroy your civic just for the s2000 motor make it an ubercool RWD setup, deal with the fat drive shaft plate next to your right knee.
-OR-
You can do what I believe is the better option, which is to get a tranny plate custom made so that you can bolt up a K20A(its gotta be a type-AHHHHHH) transmission, and there you have a 6-speed FWD s2000 motor, 240hp out of the box 9 grand redline fun for the whole family civic. Of course you gotta have the S2k cluster too.

Because the F20C1 and the F22C1 spin clockwise and aren't compatible with any H/F-series FWD transmissions (which have less than ideal gearing and durability anyway), making a conversion to a RWD drivetrain necessary to be able to use those engines (unless you want to spend tens of thousands on a custom Quaife transmission or something). This is obviously too much effort and money to be practical, especially when the S2000 engines really aren't all that spectacular . . . which is why very few people have done it.
Prototype racing was working on an adapter plate to mate a K-series FWD transmission to the F20C1/F22C1, but I haven't heard anything about it recently. I don't see much of a point in going with the S2000 engine over a K-series engine anyway.
