i have an dohc zc that is going to be swap in my 90 civic dx hb... instead of doing all the wire conversion in the engine bay can i just use an 90 civic si wire harness? i know i have to do the wiring inside the car too but i just wonder if i can use my si engine harness laying around
no - you need to use the DX harness and do the wiring changes to it - Si harness has 8 pin connector at firewall on driver's side, DX has 14 pin connector - they won't mate up - the DX chassis harness from ECU to firewall does not have wires in it for 2 of the injectors or 2 wires for the Cylinder Position Sensor

stick a screw driver between the block and the ring gear teeth on the flywheel.
