yesterday i was racing my friends rx-7 and i downshifted into to third and my rpms went to like 4 and my car bogged and than there was no turbo, at 3-4 grand the car dies out, i looked at the obvious vacuum lines and it didnt look like any of them were off. what could be wrong with my car, i checked a few other things but i wanna see what you all have to say. my cars coming off the road in a few days so i wanna try to fix it before.

 

check the wastegate and the intercooler pipes

 

Check all Intercooler piping connections

 

check and see if the turbo is not loosening up from the manifold

 

I agree with MarkC. Check all your intercooler connections and your wastegate. Your wastegate could be stuck open. It happened to me.

 

how did you fix it, i had work all day today so i didnt get to check anything, i just drove it easy all the way there with no blow off sound, , if it is stuck open wouldnt i hear the wastegate sound all the time, cuase i dont know, the car is a lot lower in volume. I didnt try to get on it but i can tell if i did it would rev that high anyway, any other thoughts besides any that were said or it should be the piping most likely? what about any vacuum lines? I know i have my lines different than the most of you, my spliter is by my fpr and fmu and i just have a straight one from my turbo to wastegate with nothing in there, is that all correct too? let me know thanks!

 

the first thing you should do is just get in there and make sure everything is still together...after that i would take a look at your WG
