Does anybody have a cb radio if so what barnd do you recomen, Im going to buy one but i dont know anything about them is there aything i need? Do i need to hook it up to my car stero? I dont want to mount it because I have a 99 acord and that would be ugly I wanna be abe to get it out of my way when I dont wanna use it any suggestions?

 

I just bought one for my truck. The Wilson antenna's seem to be a popular antenna. A few friends that use them have reccomended wilson antenna's to me. If not going with one like that the 102" steel whip seems to be the one to go with. I had a hard time finding a Wilson I wanted a Wilson 1000 Magnetic mount and finally ordered it tonight. You don't hook them up to your car stereo the radio's have a speaker built in. For Radio's from everything I have read and researched the Cobra's seem to be popular along with the Uniden's which also seem to be pretty popular. Everyone told me it was a pretty good one and from what I read it seems to be pretty good. You could just put the radio in the floor or on a seat or something in my truck I drilled the holes and mounted the braket and it just has screw things that screw it into the bracket.

 

I have used Cobra most of my life, I had the 148 gtl for many many years until I had a small flood in the garage... that was the end of that
Oh and I had a booster on it 250watt

Right now I have the Cobra 25 LTD Classic, but the handheld has failed..
When I have it in my car I just keep it on the floor next to me, With no permanent mounting.
