CRX rngine stalls when cold

CRV engine stalls when cold
My 2001 CRV with a 5 speed stalls when cold - whenever I take my foot off the throttle. I need to brake with my left foot at a light or stop sign and keep my right foot on the gas to prevent it from stalling. I changed the fuel and air filters and the spark plugs but there is no improvement. Any suggestions?
