Default Problem with stock cd player - 98 DC2

Hey, I have a 98 GS-R, which came from the factory with a Cd player. I have owned the car for about 2 years, and had never experienced any problems, however in the last 6 months, any Cd I play, old or new, burned or from the store, will skip in first through 3rd gears. The problem only occurs when I am on the accelerator, when I shift gears, the song stops skipping. At a stop light, there are no problems.

To make matters more interesting, the later songs on the Cd's, for example, track 5 and later do not skip, its only the first few songs on each Cd. This is extremely annoying, and I cannot figure out what the problem is. I have checked for loose connections, and I have run one of the "lens cleaner Cd's" through the Cd player multiple times, to no avail. I do not think it is a loose connection, because it does not occur in the later gears, or in later songs on the Cd. Also, the radio works fine in all gears, all the time.

If anyone has had the same problem, or any suggestions on how to fix it, please let me know, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

-Nick

the CD cleaners don't really work. you might need to take the whole thing apart and clean the actual lens with alcohol.

or .. get a new player.

Yeah, I think you may be right, I realllly hate to spend the money, but I am thinking of selling it, and a new head unit may make it more appealing to a potential buyer. This is a weird problem, I have never heard of this sort of thing happening, I might try to take it apart, Id really like to fix the problem, instead of throwing money at it.
