Default H22 In Civic

Whats up everyone... Just bought a 92 civic si hb. Called my mechanic and asked him for a motor. He told me he has a couple and i told him I want the best you got. Well here it is... H22A1. He is giving me the full swap installed for $2100. I need to get shift linkage and motor mounts. Is there anything else anyone knows that I need to get? What are the Pros and Cons for a h22 swapp in a Civic Hatch? Thanks alot
MY CAR: It is under member info... brandons SI Hatchbackhttp://xkustomsonline.cjb.net/
Will I have to get rid of my AC or Power Steering?
Also does anyone have any pics of it done?

You need to get information from Honda-Tech search feature. This swap has been done and documented here literally thousands of times. Good luck with the EG and have fun!

i dont think h22's have shift linkages their all shift cables.you would also need to order the Hasport motor mounts and cut the passenger side mount inorder for the tranny mounts would work, its a hassle cause if ure tranny ever goes out you need to jerk the whole motor out of the car then replace it .

Just because it says that I registered in 05 doesnt mean anything. I have been on honda-tech for about a year now. And also noticed that everyone says search. I have searched, I may have not been putting in the the right info for search so I posted I topic. Now I have the info that I need. Except for the power steering and AC.

well said. i hate all of the,"look at that stupid 04" or now "05 member", crap. what does it really matter when someone joined a damn site. if that makes you feel better in life then that is just sad.

who says a 05 member that just signed up cant know anything. very stupid.

H22 packs a lot of power but quite heavy too.
Just make sure you upgrade the brakes if you don't want to do a "wrecked car" thread.

Good luck!

AC is doable, but I think you need a different bracket. I've never researched thoroughly but people have done it. And I don't know of ANYONE whos ever retained their ps. I don't have any issues with it, steering is still relatively light, it's not like it's a one ton dually. I would strongly recommend Hasport motor mounts. They are also a great source for swap info if you get stumped on something. Stock brakes are great for daily driving, and I also did a full season of autox on the stockers last year. This also in an si. anyway have fun just keep an eye on your cv boots.......................John
