crower stage 2 would be prefect for the sohc with the valvetrain upgrade, but i heard ppl say the stage 2 u would feel much of a diff than the stage 3. go for the exospeed.

do some search u will find good shiet on sohc cams

Nope, that would work fine, the stage 2 w/ new springs/retainers. I'm doing the Stage 2 tenatively for now, if the head work/port job I get done is of adequateness, I'll be going with the stage 3.

thanx for ur response. yeah i did search on cams, i read horror stories on crowers breaking but mite be due to impromper install as well.

im leaning towards the crower s2's, i would go exospeed but u need a core

and they only advertise a street cam

Slight differences in the duration/lift.

I just offered it if he wants a core for an exospeed regrind, I pulled it out of a head I'm rebuilding and have no use for it anyways.

Yes they do. On the site they dont come up individually, I think they only sell them as a package.

I was debating between the ZEX and Crower stage 2s. I went with the Crower because I like that they are quite a bit more aggressive than the ZEX, as well as I heard alot about the valve clicking from the ZEX and I know how annoying my valve click is on my stock valvetrain when the motor is cold and would rather not drive with that ALL the time. And I ruled out the Skunk2's after reading multiple times how their springs/valves/retainers/cams broke inside the head and a)trashed the valvetrain, or b)trashed the entire motor when it raped the piston AND head.

Oh, I have a virtual engine build right now. I have all the parts picked out, now just to order them.

So far I've got the head, intake mani, throttle body and head studs I'll be using. Ordering my valve train next friday with my next paycheck. Then the week after I get those the head goes out for porting and cleaning.
