Hmm, mine doesn't come up when I listen to a cd and I'm using an aftermarket Alpine deck. The switch thing is pretty neat though.

I done that in my last integra but my antenna is broke on my current car so i pulled it up by hand half way so as i can still get a signal when i want to listen to the radio...which isn't very often!

Very nice, but why not just go with a S2k antenna conversion so you wouldn't had to deal with the annoying up and down mechanism of the stock antenna. I got the conversion for a very reasonable price that anyone could cough up. Just let me know if you're interested. (Pictures upon request)

It's a pretty cool DIY, but maybe you should also consider the S2K antenna also if you hate the long antenna.

Just get a radio that will only put the antenna up when you need it.

My stock radio sends it up every time I play a CD, or the radio. I plan to shave it!

is it the kind that hides up in the windshield or under the dash?

and for anyone else getting sick of the antenna, there's a thread floating around about different methods to plug the hole that's left over.

Me too, for about a year now, just spliced into the power antenna wire coming from the head unit. works like a dream, no blingin LED light though, i dont want that unneeded extra bulb for nothing, i use my eyes to tell if it is up or down.
