Default Koni Yellow Question

OK so I have had my koni yellow/ hr sport setup on for a while. The perch for the shock is set on the middle groove. Does anyone here have theirs on the lowest groove? If so do you run into any problems on the road with clearance, etc? Also post pics if you got em. TYIA

I think the lowest groove is for coilover sleeves to give you a bigger range of adjustment while the other grooves are just for lowering springs

I have my coilovers set on the bottom groove but I think if you had lowering springs on there it would be far too low

How much lower than "stock" is your lowest groove?
do you have pics of your car with H&R springs and these konis??
I have some yellow konis as well, but I have Integra springs, and I'm wondering how much lower the H&R springs will be..

thanks man!

Yeah, thanks for that pic...
I have another question for you, 99hatch...
My konis have 2 "grooves" in the front, one is as high as stock, the other is a bit more than 1inch lower...in the back I have 3 grooves, on "stock" one, and one higher and one lower, each about 0,6inches...so, on what grooves are your shocks?? in the "normal" groove?!?!giving it the same height than with stock shocks?
thanks for your help man!

all mine are in the middle, so there are slots above and below each of the perches, that is what i was trying to figure out...what it looked like on the lowest perch

I read in another thread that CRX Lee (local koni rep) didn't recomend lowering the pearch in combonation w/ lowering springs. If you do, your spring rate may be too soft for such a low ride height. This will cause you to bottom out much more frequently, and possibly damage your shocks.

The lower perch is for coil over sleeves (since any spring rate can be used), or OEM springs (for slight lowering).

The upper perchs are used to raise your car if: your lowering springs are too low, you have a MONSTER sound system, or wish to load the car down w/ cargo.

yeah thats what I would think
most lowering springs are progressively wound, in that they get stiffer the further they compress. So the beginning of compression is actually the softest part.

so if you lower that perch, the springs might bottom out before they ever even get to that stiffer portion(or at least not have as much stiff portion anymore).
Not to mention that beginning portion is softer so they'll bottom out quicker.

I had my eibach springs on the lowest perch and i had CRAZY rubbing problems.

I had to take it apart to set it up higher (what a bitch)

I don`t know what my offset is, but I had 205/55/15 and it was horible. could not drive the car.

Correct! This applies to standard "Koni Sports" for civics & integras. Other applications will be different.
