Ever since I bought my car my moonroof only slides open halfway. For what it seems it doesn't look like it needs lube.

Because it's only suppossed to open half way.

It's normal.. everyone else's is like that.

open up? Or slides backwards? When it slides backwards it opens all the way when it goes "UP" it is only suppose to open up a little bit thats so the rain doesn't get in but lets air in is that what you were asking?

 

no when itslides back it only goes back half way

Yeah sorry I meant slides back, but I could of swore I seen others opened all the way.

mine does the same in my civic

 

if everyone is telling you thats how everyones civic is, you should listen.

Your civic isnt one of ten billion to have a roof that opens all the way.

 

this si true,of course there are other cars with SUN roofs, the type that slides back into the roof instead of over it, those open allthe way

 

mine slides all the way back and when i put it up it only opens a lil so it just gets air and nuthin else.

 

please take a picture of it cause i dont beleive you

In the Si you can "open" the moonroof and it cracks the rear, allowing air to come in, or you can "OPEN!" the moonroof, as in have it slide about 2/3rds of the way back in its track, above the roofline.

This is normal and perfectly functional and no other factory Si will do anything otherwise.

 

in answer to his question, i thought the same about mine when i got it, so i checked it out, and after i dismanntled the sunroof, i found a twig in the mech.

i removed it, greased up and cleaned the mech while i was in there anyway, put it back together, and it now opens ALL the way, all the way was only 2" further back than it was, going, but it was a big improvement.

Your telling me that your sunroof open ALL the way?

If you own a civic and your referring to the civic sun roof then your a ******* idiot.

i'm referring it to opening all the way not cracking, i have an si and i know it can do that

 

I have a 98 EX, and when the moonroof slides back, theres only maybe 2-3" of the window that doesnt slide all the way in, and when cracking it up and down, it only opens maybe like 2" upwards from the roof, if that.

 

kk i will take pics of my ex i swear it opens all the way it when it goes up it opens a lil I'll ahve pics tomorrow maybe cept we are having massive rain here in california (southern cali) so ionno if I can tomorrow wednesday will be very sunny so then i will but if it stop raining tomorrow for a lil i will take a picture k
