NOS INSTALLATION for MY B18C5
wassup guys... what kinda nos would you preffer to use for TYPE-R? wet or dry? how much shot? can anyone send me an info about the installation of nitrous for TYPE-R engine... thanks!!
You'd be better off posting this in Forced Induction, but I'm sure me, ITR206, TypeRman, and Ochux will reply in here for you. me and TypeRman are running wet, ITR206 and Ochux are running dry. I'm running a NOS 70 shot wet kit, TypeRman is 100 shot NOS wet direct, Ochux is 75 shot Zex dry, and (to my knowledge) ITR206 is 60 shot NOS dry. If you install it incorrectly, say goodbye to your motor. Get on a dyno to measure your air/fuel ratio. Upgrade your fuel and start off low like a 50 shot and see how your car handles it. Only you know your car best. Work up from there.
thanks bro! just needed more info so i could install this for the next season, E.T new jersey.. theres a street race goin on this fri... its for slips and big $$$. TYPER are all gonna be there!! its gonna be fun!!! check out urbanracer.com they posted it through there!
if i could do it again , i would go direct port. . im gonna soon
i got a dry shot now . its cool for low shot up to like 60-75 shot , above that i would deff go wet. preferably dp
but never trust an a/f ratio guage, start low and go on the dyno and tune it . .
good luck dude. maybe ill see you at atco and etown next year hopefully ill be pulling 12's by then
where these races at in nj?

lol.
I am tempted, but afraid of damage over time. What about residue left in the engine fromt he Nitrous.
For example, if I take the nitrous off, will there be anything to tell if I had ever used nitrous?

Direct Port is the way to go!! That is what I plan on upgrading to next and also take RealTypeR's advice and get on a dyno and measure your air/fuel ratio!!
Believe me Type R's love nitrous......

You too, huh Chris? I have been toying with the idea for quite some time. It doesn't help that a friend of mine/shop owner is a huge proponent of Nitrous and has used it very successfully on every Honda he has owned, including his '00 ITR. He has been installing NOS kits on Honda's from the time they offered a universal kit for the SOHC motors and installing NOS on various domestics for even longer. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and confident that with a proper set-up/install/maintenance your car is VERY reliable.
The problems is with my wife...she, like many others on this board, feel NOS has no business being on an ITR. Damn...just had to marry an import enthusiast, didn't I!!
Oh well...decisions, decisions...what's a guy to do?
