Default You never think it will happen to you! But than it hits you!

Well guess what people?

Yup my car got stolen. Just like many on this forum the unthinkable happened to me. The weird thing though, I didn't own a R or a heavily modified swapped civic or integra. I mean damn, it was just a lowered civic with a D16 in it, nothing special. But I guess that's why thieves are such morons.

Anyway they took it right from the front of my house. It was like 10 ft away from my window. I didn't hear a thing. When I awoke, I was like WTF why would anyone steal that. So I call the police and to my surprise they have already found it. The ******** that stole it I guess were joy riding in it and hit a parked car at over 100 KM/H. So long story short my car was obviously written off.

I mean it's not so much the car as it is the invasion of privacy. I was so mad. I mean what did they get out of this, they took my stereo and all my personal belongings in my car, I mean come on theres no money to be made. All they did was make it very difficult for me to get to work and go on with daily living.

Anyway at least in the end the insurance company came through with a generous check and provided me with a rental. I have been driving a Kia Magentis for about a month now. But on the positive side I found a 2000 Civic Si (Canadian Si so Ex to you guys) in mint condition, that I pick up on Tuesday. I will be very happy with that.

Although my hatch wasn't secured in anyway, so maybe it was partly my fault, but I just never expected it. I mean the car wasn't anything special. But I guess thats one of the joys of owning a Honda ;(. It's kind of sad though, it was my first car and I have owned it for 3 years, so many memories in it. But I guess it is time to move on.

Now my number one priority is security with my new car. It's going to be secured well and watched closely. Already have the club a nice alarm going in and a couple kill switches.

Anyways I just wanted to vent and show my hatred for ******* thieves, like many others on this forum I'm sure. What the **** is wrong with the world today!?!?

Well at least it wasn't a R that got stolen.

That sounds a bit drastic, but a good idea.

Well it's a Canadian Si so it's equal to an America Ex.

It's got the D16y8.

not to thread jack but where would one go about acquiring a wheel boot? i've always thought and still do think that mechanical anti-theft devices are the best. just more work for the thieves. and yes i know the majority of them out there suck donkey ***** but some are good.

sorry man and I know exactly how you feel. I've been through the same thing. Nothing can compare to the feeling of coming out of your house only to find an empty spot where your car used to be. you literally feel violated. anyhoo...good luck with your next car and make sure you make it a bit more difficult for thieves to take your car.

I've never had a car stolen from me, but I did just get my system jacked from in front of my house right before christmas [I'm fairly certain it was a local crackhead, so I'll probably end up getting the stuff back just like my bike lol]. Before any more money is spent on performance upgrades I'm hell bent on doing up the security and have wondered about those boots myself. anyone have a link?
