Default S2000 Total US Sales by Year

Did a forum search and Google search but just haven't been able to find these figures. Is it possible to get a point in the right direction, por favor bitte? Looking for S2000 US sales figures by year and total.

I can get 03 and 04 numbers but can't seem to find earlier years.

Thanks!

Thanks. I actually did go to S2Ki and spent a bit of time there. I must have used the wrong terms b/c I didn't find much. For as great a site as it is, I'm surprised there isn't a FAQ section that covers sales and production numbers.

I found the info on the http://www.hondanews.com going back to sales in 1999. If you're interested they are as follows:

1999: 3,400
2000: 6,797
2001: 9,682
2002: 9,684
2003: 7,888
2004: 7,320

So it looks like numbers have only been down the last two years. Not too shabby.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

the numbers are usually like that... keep in mind the 99 and the 00 numbers should be together..... cause the 99 number are only for a short period of time....for they came out in the last quarter of the year.....so that number isn't quite accurate when it comes to the damand of the car and how much they would have sold if it was for the whole year... so if they did the numbers right it would be..

99/00: 10,197
01: 9,682
02: 9,684
03: 7,888
04: 7,320

That's sweet!!!!!!!!

So from 99 to 04 there have been a total of 44,771 Honda S2000s sold.

That's incredibly low!! Didn't nissan crank out 30,000 350Zs in their first year of production??

This makes me want to keep to keep my S even more, hopefully someday it'll become a collector's car or something SHWING like that.

keep in mind this is only in the usa.. this doesn't include numbers from europe and japan.... by anyways i think they only built around ehhhh 13,000 to 15,000 s2000's a year...

and yes... with the low numbers of actual s2000's being made (cause it's built by hand) .. i believe it will become a collectors item in the future... and with talks of them stopping production in 07... it's going to help us all out in the long run.. and since i'm keeping mine forever and ever even after blown motors and blown whatever... i'm still gonna have it..

and my reasoning behind it stopping in 07 is as follows.... if you notice honda cars usually get changed as in remodeled/redesigned/or some slight changes every 4 years.... think about the civics and the preludes look at the models and the years.. it's all every 4 years... even the s2000 was changed after 4 years... 99-03 then 04+ ... so by doing the math... it will stop in 07, unless they redesign or do some slight changes like the did recently in 04....

just my look on things...

ohhh and as for the 350z.. they made a lot because they are not built by hand.. and they have many differnet trim levels.... track version, touring version, yada yada yada... and they even come in automatic.. ... so now that means. all those gurlies and guys out there that dont' know how to drive manual or don't want to.. opt for the automatic because they think the car is cute... ... not to mention all those homies that get the car to have a (sports car) and drop in 20 inch chrome rims on it.... (i've seen a few in the washington dc area) hahahaha...

nissan didn't bring the 350z out to be an enthusiats car, they brought it out to make money off the fairlady z following....

The numbers are exact quotes from Honda's website. The 99's sold are still '00 model year cars. It's important to realize that the 99's listed were sold in '99.

Not true. Not even a reasonable theory. The 350Z is a great car, an enthusiasts car, in it's own right. Solid chassis, great optional brembos, good handling, and a torquey engine. If Nissan had brought out the 350Z to make money off a following they could have slapped a 350/Fairlady sticker on a Sentra.

And I did in '04 by getting my MY04 Suzuka S2k.

Here's another question to further go into detail about the sales...

Is it possible to get an accurate number of the production numbers by color?

i never said the 350z was not an enthusiasts car.. i just stated that nissan didnt' bring it out as an enthusiasts car...... cause if they wanted it to be a strickly enthusiasts car (such as the honda did with the s2000) .. nissan would of came out with one trim level with a couple of options.. instead of coming out with like 4 or 5 different trim levels and a level in automatic.... seioiusly who puts an automatic into a car they want to be an enthusiasts car... no one does...

I'm with you on the 350Z, not only is it NOT an enthusiats car, it's a piece of junk.

It doesn't look japanese, it doesn't even have a japanese engine. (yeap it's a V6 Renault engine from the Vel Satis... a Van)
