::::: Nikon Coolpix 8700 :::::
I had sold my SanSung DigiMax A6 and have just purchased the Nikon Coolpix 8700, and I was curious to see if anyone on H-T has any experience with this camera? I do know that it is a 8MegaPixles camera, and that is has a 8xOpticalZoom also. I have heard great reviews on this camera, but I just wanted to see it's capabilaties with some H-T members that might have used it before, or own one!

It has a magnesiumalloy body that weighs 17oz.:

I picked one up at christmas. It's not as easy to use as my old sony DSC-50 but it takes good pix if you use a tripod or good lighting @ night ect. here one I cut down to 800x600 but I really need to figure out how to use it. Hopefully I'll get some bomb pix tommorrow
well, this may not help you but can give you an idea of what some photos look like with a 8mp camera, this is taken with my gf's canon pro1

funny you should ask I looked at both and bought the Nikkon due to it's longer intial lens range as all my JGTC pix were long distance and I'm going to do alot of Honda-Cup/Challenge events this year but here is a full review
