Default PM6 + VAFC to control mini-me??

I'm going to be putting a Y8 head on my A6 block soon... Can I just use my PM6 with the addition of a VAFC and get the same results as converting to OBD1 and using a P28? I've tried to get some info on the VAFC because I'm not too familiar with it, but I haven't really found any info for something like this... I don't want to convert everthing to OBD1, and I don't want to just use a switch because then I wouldn't get the timing/fuel maps for when VTEC is engaged.

But is it possible to run VTEC with the proper timing/fuel maps with the PM6 and the VAFC, and get the same performance as converting to OBD1 and using the p28?

Anyone think this would work? I know I will need to still use a switch for the VTEC selanoid though.

i don't think so.i'm pretty much doing the same swap except i'm using the z6 head.and from the searching i did it seems converting to OBD-1 will yeild better performance.P.S. if you go obd-1 run uberdata i hear its the sh$t and thats what i'm gonna do

See thats what I'm getting at, I'm going to be using a cam gear, if I use a VAFC or SAFC, then I will have the fuel I need, what else is there? The VTEC kick point can be controlled by either the VAFC or a RPM switch, so VTEC would be engaged without the "aggressive" fuel map and timing advance, which I would take care of with the cam gear and SAFC.
