hey all, I am in the process of droping my B16a1 engine into my 88 CRX si. I have gotten all the parts i need to replace and the timing belt and water pump from a 94+ Del Sol DOHC vtec.
Now the problem is that the water pump has 19 teeth and my old one has 22. I have been looking and from everyone i have talked to said it should have 22.
The guy at the Honda dealership didnt have any 00 civic si pumps for me to count but said that the one with 19 should be ok on it. He said it will of course spin faster and could actually promote more efficient cooling.
So is this guy blowing smoke up my *** or is he right and if so could it harm my engine if i do use it.

the teeth arent important IMO but u got it from HONDA and not from ACURA that means u are set, just make sure u get the timing belt from the same car


LS uses a different tooth water pump, and timing belt as well, but as long as the belt+ water pump match up u are fine
