What engine is this?
are you sure it's a 1.5 liter dx motor with 92 stock hp? On the motor it says ZC but what i wanted to know is whether it's a Zc dohc or Zc sohc vtec?
There's only one cam under that cover
It quite easy to see. The SOHC engines are much rounder. The DOHC are more square : (just ignore the blue lines

Are you sure about that?... Non Vtec SOHC ZC... I highly doubt that a non-Vtec DPFI ZC..... if it even exists ....puts out 118 hp.. and the Z6 and y8 put out only about 10 more HP???.... Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
looks like a D15b2 project....
.... mad restrictive...DPFI anyone??..

The non-vtec soch zc is a d16a6 with a slightly different cam. If it says zc on it than thats what you have. And like [crx]Hated it!!! said, looks like some one got lazy with the manifold.

I agree...if it says ZC, they used the the DX DPFI that was already in the car. So it would be a 1.6 DPFI motor. Given the bump in displacement over a DX, it's probably doing around 100-105hp. Forget the sohc ZC rating of 118 hp with the DPFI in place.

that's definitley a 1.5 std motor. it's not a zc. i have a buddy of mine who just swapped a 1.5 std motor with the single zc and the intake manifolds are different plus more....by the way i don't know about the 118 either because i raced my friend in my std and i spanked him....both stock....same everything i would think.

I'll second that.

That kind of thing happens,
An HF someone gave me had
a D16a6 with an HF intake, transmission and exhaust...

Exactly. Sadly, for the MAJORITY of Honda (or most cars, really) owners, it doesn't matter what's under the hood, how fast it is, or anything else; it just has to get them to work reliably. I normally refer to these people as "Cult Saturn", but they buy other makes, too.
If this was someone's DX that they bought with a blown motor, it might have been a fairly cheap replacement to just get the car going again. They might have not done the MPFI swap yet, or they might not even be interested in doing it. The other goodies (cam gear, intake, etc) on the car tell me they ARE into their cars, though. It doesn't make sense to me to drop in a SOHC ZC and not go MPFI, but maybe it does to someone else...
As said above, if it actually IS stamped "ZC", then it's a SOHC non-VTEC ZC, plain and simple. And like HatedIt said, they were too lazy to finish the wiring. Or too poor. Or too misinformed.

Ehhh, maybe so, maybe no. If it's mated to an Si, ZC, or hybrid tranny, it's probably not too bad at all. Figure around 108hp for a DPFI SOHC ZC, and with the right transmission it's as quick (or quicker than) a stock Si.
Relatively speaking, though, from what it COULD be, yeah it's a slug.
