Default Rear main seal "popper" AND questions about seal/cover

I am replacing my rear main seal on my D15B and I couldn't get it out for a while. I wasn't sure how you were supposed to do it... so I first tried getting a screw to go into the rubber so that i could just pull it out, but that didn't work since the seal has a lot of metal in it... I ended up actually nicking the cover where the seal goes in.

But I did manage to get the seal out, here's an easy way:

I put the cover on 2 2x4s then put a roll of duct tape on the seal, put a 2x4 on top of the tape, then hammered it and it came right out! Just thought I'd show you guys an easy way to do it since I was having trouble.

Also does anyone know if that nick I did (trying to use drill bit in a dremel and it slipped) will cause problems/leaks? I don't think it will since its toward the outside of the cover... I think the seal stops the oil more towards the back (crank)..

Let me know 'cause I am really wanting to install the new seal/ZEX flywheel/Daikin clutch/pp!!

I can't wait till this motor is ready to be dropped in!

OMG EDIT cuz im drsunks hehe

also another question do you guys think it is a bad idea to change crank/etc pullies? the one I have on my D15B has a little chip taken out of it so I wonder if that will cause damage to the belts, plus it has a different number of grooves for the alternator belt than my HF... could I swap the one over from my HF/get an aftermarket/other one or should I not since they are balanced for each engine???

Thanks

Replace the cover, that nick might cause a leak and I'm sure you don't want to take the tranny off or pull the engine once its in.

And if your crank pulley has any type of chips I would replace it, it could cause it to be unbalanced.
