Screwy Stiring!! 90 si to 89 hf steering rack compatibility Q's.
I've had my car for nearly 2.5 years now.
The steering on this car has been screwy ever since day 1.
Don't ask why i bought a rack for an 89hf.
(ok,. ok,. I bought it off someone that was parting their 89hf.................8 months ago.
Now i think i'm ready to finaly do it. The swaping of racks that is.
Are they compatible? My car is a 90 si Vs, 89hf.
Thanx in advance!

Not according to my Factory Service Manuals. That's only true of the '84-'87 CRXs. I put an HF rack on my '87 CRX Si, and it IS a *little* quicker, but only by about 0.6 turns lock-to-lock. In other words, only about enough that it makes it harder to keep it on a straight line on the road!
The '88-'91 steering racks, according to my '88 FSM, all have the same ratio.
That's the bad news. The GOOD news is that you should be able to use it with no problems, C-RICKS.
