Default Making the B-Series Hondata ECU FLASHABLE just like the K

Will I was getting very frustrated with pulling out chips and putting new chips in a Hondata ECU not just mine but other cars that I have street tunned. I was thinking If I could make it a flashable ecu like the k series. Some how I would have to think of combining the Hondata emulator with the Hondata chipped ecu, will there is enough room under the ecu cover to put a other board with all the components of the emulator…so there is a way to do this….. so has anyone tried this at all….

Will here is what I was going to do.. just a theory

First take the emulator all apart and see what it was all made out of. I could see that it had a very long chip and a small battery. Now my first thing was to supply a constant supply of power to the battery because I noticed the romulater does not work properly with out it… so it was time to do some thinking of how to make a 12v supply to a 3V supply…. So I needed to create a converter… from the ecus 5V current to a 3V.

Next approach was to move the serial interface… by drilling a hole in the metal casing of the ecu I made a place for a new pin header the IO serial cable on the side of the ecu. Now by de-soldering all the holes of the romulater header and soldering wires from the E-board to the new header in the metal case I now had a plug on my ecu so that I can hook up the laptop too.

Will now I am left with a long ide cable that has to be shortened not a problem.

Next thinking that all these components should fit underneath ecu cover could be a challenge. But if this works now more chips for me….. or pocket programmer..

Why I want to do this…

It is easier for tuning not my car but more cars like mine
No more chips and the HASSLE OF PUTTING THEM IN and taking them out… this way I would never have to remove the ecu from my car…
Also because I can ha-ha

Just tell me your thoughts on this

cant you just ZIF-socket the ecu?

its a pretty bad-*** idea, but wouldnt you just want to make things less complicated and ZIF-socket it so you wouldnt have to worry about the headaches lol
