So within the next 2 months I'm going to rebuild my transmission. I have an LS Teg tranny (A1 - a '91 I do believe). I was going to install limited slip but I was also wanting to change the gearing of my car (type r gears or something). What to do:

ex. Can I buy a LSD for my A1 tranny and later swap gearing?

I don't think I can do this. Isn't LSD dependent on your final drive? Like if I swapped gears 1-5 and leave my final drive on there, could maintain using my LSD for the A1?

I'm real confused about this so any knowledge would be nice

 

Does anyone know. If I can't find anything here I'll just go to the master mechanic @ the shop and see if he knows
