I agree with you 100%, if you don't have advice keep your smart *** comments to yourself.
Anyway did you get a check engine light? Maybe one of the sensors is going out on the tranny. Don't know to much about auto's though but can help you look into it. I will check my manual when I get home. Good luck.

there are 4 valves (i forgot what they are called exactly) that stick out of the tranny. They look like little gold cylinders with two wires coming out of them. (very easy to see with the hood up standing in front of the car looking at the top/front side of the tranny) These are responsible for signiling your TCM to shift the tranny when the hydrolic Pressure reaches a certain level. Basically your 4th gear sensor/valve could be clogged with grime or could just plain ole be going bad. Also check your tranny fluid! If thats low then you could just be experiencing a low pressure situation where there isnt enough fluid in there to keep it in gear. Good luck.
