Default Ticking from my dohc ZC

Very strange ticking from my engine, its on the right side of the engine, where the blets and ect are.

Ok so here's what happens,
when i start the car up it ticks for about 2 seconds.
and when im driving i can hear the ticking on
1st 2nd and 3rd gear, at around 2500rpm...

I did a valve adjustment but the ticking is still happening.
What do you think causes the problem?

When im on the freeway usually 4th and 5th gear i dont hear any ticking.

the only time I ever heard that was from an engine that was OUT of oil an it never went away, even with oil in it.

actually, my injectors tick, loud. I've heard a couple different crx's and civic's with b16's that tap. put a screwdriver up to the injectors while there ticking, like your listening to your valves

It sounds like your fuel injectors... I had a DOHC ZC and it did the same thing and it seemed like it was loudest when it was cold

take the timming belt cover off - you might have a frayed belt? just have a really good look at the belts

my ZC does the same thing. it only started when i did a de-carb on it. but it sounds like its from the belt area of mine too.

i stopped worrying about it. the damn thing has oil, and i'll do a valve adjustment soon...

I had a similar problem but not on my ZC. It was a 1990 sentra I had way back. It turned out to be a broken tensor for the timing belt.

mine does it until its warm, then its gone. im thinking its something to do with the lower oil pressure until it warms up. i have a b series though, but i share your concern. i hat ehearing it until it goes away.

not a good feeling

just checking, for all you guys that responded, was it constantly? or only when you hit a certain rpm, because at idle-2400 rpm the car sounds normal, but when i hit 2500rpm then thats when it makes the noise.
