Mounting a DIN headunit behind the cupholders?
I have a 99EX, and I'm considering mounting my headunit behind the cupholders, next to the shifter. I have a big project involving the top console, and it would be easier to weld a security cage down there than where the radio normally goes. Plus, it's safer to have it there where they could break my a/c and radio bezel AGAIN and find that there's no way to take out the headunit. Does anyone have any experience with putting the headunit there? I once looked at a 97 Civic where the owner had done this, but he moved to Texas, and I only saw him once.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Just get the factory cupholder brackets/assembly for the 96-98 civic, it had provisions for DIN mounting.
However, if you don't space it far enough out, you can't the trim ring around it. Either way, its not a difficult affair.
