Default Opinions needed on my first manifold

This is manifold #1 of 2 that I'll be making for my project. I know it's a little bit to late to be asking this, but is 16 gauge steel going to be too thin for a tubular manifold like this? Also, I'm using the flange off of the stock cast manifold. I have a friend who did this with his project and the welds seem to be holding up fine, but what are your opinions?

And yes, it is a Plymouth Acclaim with a VR4 engine

Interesting project!

But you should just go ahead and get a mild/SS head flange for the mani, especially if your using the 16gauge stuff... I would recommend sch10 bends instead of the 16 gauge but thats just because its what im used to working with. If you can do it with 16ga by all means do it. Save weight and less of a heat sink...

Doesn't look bad. But I would like to hear more about this project, it sure is interesting.

So yeah, this car started off as a simple 140hp 3.0l automatic daily driver that has somehow turned into an out of control project car. It began with a 5-speed swap....no big deal. Then I figured, why not slap on a turbo, so that was the second project. Then I came across a 3000gt engine for cheap in a local junkyard, which resulted in the current twin turbo project. The stock 3.0l engine that came in the car is version of the SOHC engine that came in 3000gts/ stealths, so swapping in the DOHC engine wasn't really a big deal since it uses the same basic engine block, just a few modifications here and there. With 10:1 compression, twin 14b turbos, and dual 2.5" exhaust, I hope to reliably make 400hp at the wheels.
