B16 block dosnt match B16 head!!! WTF!!
Bought a sleeved B16A 84.5mm and it didnt match up with my head.... Thought every VTEC bottoms and heads where bolt-on...
The note on the block sais "B16A" and the top i a PR3-2 ....
Exhaust side looks ok, but nothing lines up on the intake side.. See pics..
On intake side one of the cooling channels is outside the top. Also the shape is different...
The question is:
1. Which heads will fit my block?? B16A
2. Which blocks will fit that head?? PR3-2
3. And what car is my block and head from?

did the bolt line up?
B series head are interchangable. You can even put an Ls head on your block. Your head should fit on the block fine.

The head is perfectly lined up.... And no matter how many who says it should fit, it doesn't!!! Exhaust side looks good but intake side looks bad! Nothing lines up like coolant channels etc...
Need someone to explain this to me... Everything just stopped up know..
Need another head which will fit or i have no engine...

Never done this before and don't see your problem... Have to start somewhere.... And if something doesn't look normal it is common to ask those who has the knowledge..
And yes, im going to assebly this my self, with forged pistons, rods etc.. the whole deal...

The things you circle isn't anything. Take a look at any stock motor and you will see that they are same way. IF the bolts line up and the head gasket lines up the holes you will be fine.
Find a buddy to work with that know what is going on to be safe. You dont' want to ruin you expensive parts.

yes make sure you have someone work on the block with you who has knowledge... and make sure you have a helms manual or something to help you. you should also get the block and head resurfaced, cleaned up(hot tanked) and painted. If your spending all the money on this build make sure you dont leave out the small things.
