what would you do?
I'm considering a few cars right now, that I'll be buying around this time next year. The S2000 is one of them. An Acura RSX type S is another. Would you rather have a 2001 S2000 or a 2004 Acura RSX, and why? I think both cars are exciting. I haven't driven the S2000 yet, but my local dealer is calling me for a test drive because he's getting one in soon. So until that time your opinions are all that I have to go by. Thanks for the help!

i would go with the S...... the rsx doesnt' compare to it..... however.. the rsx is a lot easier to modify and a lot cheaper to modify...... but the S is just such a great car, great handling, great style... not to many people have it... and it's a freekin chick magnet..... the rsx... ummm well it looks good. but a lot of people have it, it's very common, a lot of ricers have it, and well it's not really a chick magnet....
If you want an economical car that is peppy and stylish...get the RSX.
If you want a true sports car, beautiful, not real economical but who cares, its a fast little roadster that handles like its on rails and holds its own straight line, especially for being an n/a 2.0 or 2.2 (depending on what year you get, in your case 2.0)...get the S2000.
My opinion is that you cant even start to compare these cars, its like comparing the Civic Si to an NSX. Piece of advice though, try to find yourself a 2002 so you get the glass rear window instead of plastic...
Understand that the S2000 is a car that some people can drive daily but most cant, if your over 6' tall and more than 170lbs or so, this car is going to feel mighty small on the inside, im 6'4 and about 235-240lbs, and honestly, i COULD NOT drive this car daily and be happy, especially with the top up...which is another thing, the depression state of driving this car with the top up when its cold is something you have to get used to, because your initial response when you sit down in it is going to be to put the top down...now granted with the windows up and the heater on full blast, you'll stay warm if you keep moving, but if you stop...heh, it gets cold.
Also...modifying it isnt a cheap affair like it is with Civics, Integras and RSX's...your talking major bucks to put wheels and tires on this car if you want to retain the cars handling and ride characteristics, most companies make parts for it as far as performance goes, but its not as easy as slapping an AEM CAI on it for $150 and calling it a day like it is on B and K series motors...your gonna spend alot of cash if you want to really tune it...not to mention the fact that alot of times, modifications done improperly or cheaply can actually hurt this car's performance.
Overall its an awesomely fun car, but you really need to consider your own ideas as to what you want before you sign those papers...RSX is an economy car, nothing against them, i love them...and they are quite capable of being fast, but their no S2000.

It will be my only car. My dad drove one today while I was at work at a used car dealership he found. He said it was nice but the ride was very very choppy. This probably won't bother me that much because my current car rides like **** because of my suspension mods. I'm going out to this dealer some time this week to see for myself. I'll let you know what I think once I drive it. Thanks for the imput!
