hard to add vtec?
ok.. heres the situation... i can get a non-vtec f20b for a very good price.. but then i wanted to add vtec but people told me it will be hard to find a f series vtec head to swap on..and as i thought about it i dont ever see a f series vtec car.. except for v6 engines... wat can i do about this problem?
isn't F20B a DOHC engine? the F series VTECs are SOHC, so you would need an H22 VTEC head. you may as well just buy an H22. unless of course you meant to say a F22B.

how hard would it be to put a h22 head on a dohc f22b?

just get the decal
if you look around, there was a guy that put an h22 head on an h23 block... don't think there has been an h22 head on an f20 block.
I'm positive it won't be very easy.

about 5 months into the project, my friend sold the head and bought an h22... Its just not worth it, but the project was completed once or twice on here before. Problems with re-welding the head, crazy oil leaks... it sucked.
If you've got money to do a "v-tec swap" Just save a little more and boost the engine w/o vtec.

finding an h22 head would be pretty hard for a cheap price...my good friend has a lude with his stock DOHC non-vtec h23 and put a h22 head on it from a guy who totalled his car and he throws down seroius power w/ basic mods(i/h/e)...like 220 whp i believe thats what his dyno was but not 100% sure but that frankenstein definately works...but for u i wouldnt bother with trying to find a h22 head b/c like earlier stated --oil leaks, etc. the h swap would be much more effective
im just a begging my hobby in cars because im only 16.. but ya.. i asked my homie if u could fit the h22 head on da f20b and he said no because of different series.. but ya the f20b is dohc 5gen jdm.. oo ya the good price im geting it for is 500

You mean 6th gen? The 5th jdm F20B is sohc and only has 135HP.

f22b is the dohc non vtec motor
f20b apparently came in a variety of flavors... some sohc, some dohc, some vtec. most f20b's that people will be swapping for is going to be the dohc vtec one out of the SiR(T)

My friend sold his for around 750... If the head is complete and in good shape, thats a decent price.
