bs - motor form hmo- argh!!!
shoot , i got a new long block back in march from HMO. the reason i got it was because oil leaked into my 4th cylinder on my old b16 which caused my car to create a "spyhunter" smoke screen when i drove sometimes.
today i go to change my plugs everything was good until i got to the first cylinder ( most left) i see oil in there, and also oil on the tip of my plug where it goes into the chamber. bool shizzzzz!!!! so i feel that i got a new motor for nothing.
however, maybe the oil only went to the top part of the spark plug and it got to the tip part when i lifted it up, that could be a possibility! im not so worried about the top since its prob due to a bad spark plug grommet ring.
shoot man, this is kinda wack
.
and my coolant always slowly goes down, maybe a bad head gasket too huh, shizzzzz man.
sorry for the rant, just needed to vent this wack stuff!!

march was about 10 months ago. im sure you have beat on this motor at least some since you have gotten it. i dont think this thread needed to be created over this incident. maybe something more along the lines of what may be your problem and what you can do to fix it. HMO is a very standup company from my experience, which is hard to find in this industry when it comes to motor distributors. if you have been driving this motor since you got it in march, i will be the first to point the finger at you, not HMO.
i never said it was their fault, and im old enough to know that when u get a used motor, its a gamble. no way am i trying to bash HMO, if i get another motor in the future, it will be from there for sure.
i just felt a little disappointed that the reason why i got a new motor is what i got in the new motor, it kinda sucks u kno. well its coo, ill run the motor for a week then pull the plug and see whats up.
and i dont beat on my motors, i work hard for my money its its just worth that much more to me. since march, the car hasnt seen vtec more than 20 times, and i NEVER redline it. call me a bich for driving that way, but hey, i worked hard for my money so i know the value of it for me to just go out there and destroy my motor.
well thank you byebye!!

then why even put HMO in it period, it has nothing to do with them. Not trying to bust your ***** but we don't need bashing of good companies on here, there are enough bad companies to bash.

i just think the title is a little uncalled for. i am glad you arent trying to take this out on HMO. if you would go into depth a little more about your plug situation and maybe get some pics of what is happening to your plugs/motor. maybe do a compression test on your motor, etc. we could help you get your problem solved in no time.
I'll bet right now that your oil seals between your valve cover and spark plug tubes are leaking (very common problem) and as soon as you unscrew the plug the oil drips down the plug and into the cylinder. Replace those little seals, torque your valve cover on properly and I'll bet you your oil "problem" will go away.

ya, thats exactly what im hoping for here. i dont want to deal with busted piston ring. i already have those O rings and a new valve cover gasket. hope it works!
im not even trying to bash HMO at all, i kno they are a good place. i only put that in the title because thats the fact - i got it from HMO.. i kno it aint there fault, its a gamble with used motors.
no more replies pls, thanks. ill replace the o ring and check it out, thanks

I agree it's been what 10 months??
don't see how it's a problem of theirs....
if it was just after install and did it when first fired up... then yea..
locked... until shown that it should otherwise be open.
