94 civic ignition problem
my friend has a 94 civic ex with a d16z6 motor. couple days ago we had a problem with it not starting. it would crank, but not fire. we replaced the distributor cap and rotor and it worked fine. next day, the car would idle almost to dead, but wouldn't die and there seemed to be a lack of power when excellerating. we replaced the spark plug wires are it started right up, but then just died a couple minutes later and we could not get it to start again (crank, but woulnd't fire). In my opinion it's either the timing is off or a fuel problem (injectors or fuel filter). does anyone have any ideas on what this might be and how to fix it. thanx
go check ur alternator n ur battery for bad ground cuz i have the same similar problem but mine was a bad ground not starter or alternator if u have ca$h den try to bring it to the shop n see if they say over 200 to fix den 4get it under 200 ok
Check things in this order for ease and cost.
Batter for voltage and good ground
Make sure the distributor is set right. And spark is "equal" at all plugs
Alternator for proper output and ground
Fuel filter, at rail (injectors) this will give u an idea about how well the pump is working also, etc
