Default STD tranny

i tried searching but came up with nothing. I was wondering if any one knows anything about the 4 speed tranny that came in the STD civic hatchback models.
I was thinking about doing a swap but dont quite have enough to get the tranny so i was wondering if my 4 speed will be fine for now.

it will work, it wont feel any faster then the engine you have now despite the swap, but it will work.

It will feel faster with the Z6. With the 4 speed, your acceleration is gonna hurt real bad. Just wait a little bit and find the right SI tranny, then buy a new clutch and flywheel for it and then install it all at once when u put the motor in. You will save yourself the time and hassle later down the road. BTW, i just threw away a perfectly good 4 speed cuz i couldnt give it away. That should tell u how much they suck.

don't do that... you can still get money for it. i work at a metal recycling plant and we will pay for any non-ferris(magnetic) material... i think it goes for around 50 cents a pound.

He's right the 4spd tranny will hurt your acceleration, but you can feel the difference between the z6 and d15b1.

I have a z6 with a 4spd right now. And yes the gearing and acceleration sucks after 2nd. And you'll be riding on the highway on high rpms on 4th.

But if you cant afford a new tranny right now and really need the motor swap. Just go for it, you will still feel the difference. trust me. Anythings better than a stock STD.

I would get either the Si tranny or convert it to hydro. because either way you will have to upgrade the hubs(STDs have smaller hubs than DX/SI) and this is because of the axle size, and you will also have to get axles of course. Save your money until you can get everything you need, unless your motor/tranny are about to take a **** on you...
