jdm itr 98spec motor. which is better for drag racing (track of course)? 4.4 or 4.7?
anybody know which gear a 4.4 and 4.7 finish in?

the 4.7 will be better because you can keep it in the upper rpms better than the 4.4, that way you can stay in the powerband longer, i dont know when the shift points are though, so it might get in the way in like 2nd gear and you might have to shift i dont know, but the 4.7 of course will allow faster acceleration. oops i though it was for auto-x, anyways the 4.7 will be better for drag as long as you can keep traction
i would say 4.4 coz you rarely use the 4.7 fd in a 1/4 mile coz you would probably be in 3rd when you cross the line. 4.7 will kill you on gas mileage

ask this in the drag racing forum, im sure they're be able to help you out alot more.
myself.. depending on how high you run the R's... and when you actually stop making power (useless high rev's) it would be better to run the shorter gears... speed shifting doens't take you back that much, i would think the acceleration would make up for the delay in shifts.
good power through the whole RPM range is always good.. all these poeple REV'ing they're engines 10G's.. and not making any power past 8 is a joke.

If you had a 4.7 final drive, you would probably be at the top of 4th, depending on the size slick your running. 4.7 will be much better for drag racing but shitty on the freeway, that is, if its your daily driver.
