Is PasswordJDM.com blowing smoke up my ass? (GSR swap on CRX)
I recently bought a complete stage 1 GSR obd1 with LSD swap from PasswordJDM.com. I Also bought the omin power full coil overs<--($600) from them. They took along time to process my order. I told them That I had a 1988 Honda CRX Si and I need every thing to do my swap on my CRX. So the guy said I need a shift linkage from hasport, cable to hyro conversion and cable axles. I bough that extra from them. So the total cost came out to $4,835 shiped (that was w/ coil overs). About a week ago I got an email from them asking what year and model my CRX was when I told them when I ordered the swap. But yesterday I got this email from them:

Hi brian,
There is another matter with the swap. I know you had originally
specified that you wanted cable halfshaft and what not to go with the
swap. Well ends up finding out that it does not matter at all as far as
what halfshaft you get, the axles are still not going to work, whether
you use OEM cable or hydro axles. The best way to do this and to do it
right without any hassles is to just get the HASPORT axles. To help you
out because I really did not quote you right the first time, I'll just
let you have the axles at our cost plus shipping which is $310 + $20
shipping. You don't have to get it now of course, you can get it
anytime.
Let me know if that is ok with you.
Thanks,

O by the way the "Theres another matter with the swap" was inpleying to the last email I got asking what year and model my car was when I told themwhen I ordered the swap. I know that you can make hybrid axles. Are they just feeding me BS? I'm about to cancel every thing from them because they're just toying with me to buy their stuff. I hav'nt emailed them yet. This is so hard to deal with them because I'm a soldier in Iraq and I can't always call them or email them right away. If anyone has some ideals on what I should do please post them
Thanks

theyre trying to jerk you around, dont do it, the integra axles should work just have someone who has done the swap before let them know, they just wnat you to buy more stuff so they can get a bigger sale
I think they are sending the cable axles and they want me to buy the hasport axles. I just better not get an incomplete swap at my house.
hes just offering them to you. and hes also a member on these forums. FYI
hes probably under the assumption that you dont want to make axles for it.

WOW thats a lot of money to be spending all at once, lol. But anyways, y cant u just use the cable halfshaft, change the axle seal (on the tranny) to match it, then run 90-93 teg axles?
I'm just going to be an *** and say, thats why i read all the information pertinent to the swap before buying everything for it... And for that GSR swap,
I could have got it all under 3500 lol but hey it sounds like that 5 grand was burnin a hole in your pocket =P
And i would have the right parts LOL
300 for axles.. unbelievable, I was shocked when i paid 70 for a single Raxles axle a year ago.

i never heard such thing as the axles won't fit. i had jdm r in my crx and w/ the hasport mount/conversion kit and used the stock type-r axles that came w/ the swap...
ding ding ding, they want more money...

Jeff-
Ask them why they do not fit if everyone else uses the same combination ? Are they using the right intermediate shaft ? Are they using the right year for the axles. Find out why they don't fit and go from there.
I know when I did a swap on my car I had issues with the axles to, I had the right axles and intermediate shaft but yet the axles would still not fit. They would fit into the trans fine but they seemed a tad long. Actually I could of left them the way they were, but when the axle nut was tighten and the wheel was in the air, the wheel would not spin. I came up with a solution though, basically fabbed up a spacer and never ever had a problem with them again.
I have done more then a few swaps, and I never had another axle issue again like the one I had on my car, I really think my car has been in an accident and that could of been a problem.

On an EF, any b series tranny cable or hydrolic, if using a 90-93 halfshaft (intermediate shaft) and the same axels, and removing the little dust seals inside your huds, they "will" fit. Your other option is to purchase new aftermaket axels made for the swap from avid, hasport, enjo, comp eng, raxles, ect...

Not true, take a look at this old link I found
http://web.archive.org/web/200...s.htm
If the engine you bought has a Y1 transmission then you have the dreaded Y1 intermediate shaft. Look at the difference between the Y1 int. shaft on the left and S1 on the right. This is what screws people up. If you have the longer Y1 you need to use a modified 86-89 Integra lefthand axle. It is shorter than the 90-93 Integra axles.

I didn't mean using a y1 intermediate shaft, i meant using just a regular 90-93 usdm shaft found on any rs, ls, gs, or gsr. Sorry i wasn't more clear. If i got a y1 shaft, i'd just sell it, and locate a common one found with a S1, or YS1.
