Default Have a problem .... can somsone help

Sup all, i got a 2 door 2000 gsr and i recently brought it to a tinting place near my house to get the bak 3 windows done...when i went to pik it up i seen the bak of my window on the hatch, the top portion wasnt tinted, i was told that they cant do it on the top of the window on the hatch, becuase of these little black dots called "Matrix bumps", was wondering if anyone else has this problem n how did u fix it, was told i can get a layer of black vinyl out there, but pleees help dont want my window to look like crap... Thanx..

hmm. i dont really have a suggestion but those bumps would probably be pretty hard to cover up, i would think you'd get nasty air holes in the tint which would probably end up lookin worse,

im not gonna get my my tegs windows tinted, but my old cars were, i dont think it had the bumps tho.

I have a '00 hatch too, with tinted windows. The place I took it to just covered up the dotted area with the tint. It looks kinda lame because the tint can't stick to the glass because of the dots (but it'll stick to the dots, so it doesn't peel off or anything), but you get used to it, and I think it looks ok. The place told me that it looks better than not tinting it, esp from the inside. The finish is pretty uniform, I don't have streaks or spots where it sticks to the glass and some where it doesn't. I'm satisfied.

I agree with you. I've got an 01 hatch and my dots are tinted too. Up close it does look a bit bad but you'll get over it. The shop that did mine said to just continue to squeegee it the days after my car was tinted to get as much air out as possible. I managed to do a bit the day after but forgot to keep doing it so i'm stuck with it partially not sticking. oh well. I personally think it looks okay, you don't really see it unless you go up to it and look for it.
I also think it looks better than not tinting it. I've been in a friends car w/o tinted dots; at night you've got this band of light shining through an otherwise dark car. That bugs me more than not having the dots tinted. Other than that, I'm satisfied.

Got mine done and the same things going on. Looks like ****. But you have to look close to see them. They tinted all the way up. No biggie. Hardly notice it.

if you really wanna get rid of the dots, can't you use some kind of solvent like paint thinner or something, then you would be able to get tint on there smooth? just my $0.02
