wheel/tire question for integra
Hey folks,
I have a 93 Integra that i drive at the local auto-x, and i have come across a great deal on a set of lightweight kosei k1 wheels.
BUT, they are 15x8" and +22mm offset. i would most likely run 225/45-15 slicks on it, but im concerned about rubbing.. the wheels will stick out a bit from the fenders. there LOOKS to be plenty of room when its just sitting there, but im sure that will all disappear when cornering hard. I am at stock height now, but i plan to get lowered in the spring. probably not more than 1.5" or so on threaded body coilovers.
is anyone running anything close to this setup?? I could use some advice quick, as im sure the wheels will not stay available long ($69 per wheel is a sweet deal, for basically new wheels)
Thanks!

Sounds like too little offset. I believe the 'teg has like a 35-45 mm offset, I think these things would be sticking out ridiculoisly far. Deviating that much from stock also messes with the steering geometry.
Of course, there is a reason I'm trying to talk you out of them...
Those wheels would actually be a perfect fit for my BMW, and I have been trying to find 15x8 Koseis in 4x100. If you decide to pass on them, could you let me know? I'd at least like to find out where the current owner got them...

Yea, they do stick out a bit. maybe 1.5" pasts the fender..
i put one on w/ a hoosier 225/45-15 to test fit. it LOOKS like there is plenty of room, but it was just sitting there.. the overall diameter is a bit smaller than stock, and i was hopeing that might be enough to help them fit.
the wheels are at a local shop here in Boulder, and i dont think they would ship them. they got them from tirerack i think, the reason theyre so cheap is that they had a set of tires mounted on them, had pictures taken, and then tires taken off, so they cant sell them for full price.
i know ive heard of people running 225s on integras, but i dont know what size wheels.
anyone else have anything to say about it?
thanks,

The offset will give you problems, esp when trying to run 225s. The optimal Integra offset is 38. I currently run 35 with 205s on my rims since I got them used, but will be getting 38 K1s to run 225s.
if its for race-only wheels........ it doesnt matter if they stick out past the fenders or not. Most SP autocrossers run 8-9" wheels (usually 13" though) with very little offset, and they stick out past the fenders.

Yeah, they would be race only.
i know that people use 13x8-9", but i'm concerned about too much rubbing with this setup, since the overall tire diameter is only a little bit smaller than stock.
has noone run 225/45-15s on an integra/civic?
thanks,
