Default Slim Fan Wiring Help

searched already and still cant figure it out. i have a half core (civic) fluidyne in my integra. the slim fan is mounted in the engine bay side. now im confused, would this be a pusher or puller setup and also the two wire on my harness black and black/red do i wire the blue to black/red, and black to black? One last thing on the fan it says that the black wire is positive.

it depends on the fan. some are reversible by swapping the wires so the motor spins the other way [like the ones b18bturbo is selling]. if it's on the engine side of the radiator, that's a puller.

if your fan isn't reversible, I am not sure if you could damage it by hooking it up wrong, but I would think that you could just wire it up and see which way it spins and/or feel the airflow. if you aren't 100% positive, it'd probably be a good idea to call the manufacturer or the person who sold it to you.

the fan is reversible, and on the fan it states the black wire is positive. so im wondering on the harness the positive wire would be black/red correct?

usually the striped wire would be positive. my manual says it's blue/black for + and black for -.

as for the black wire on the fan being "positive", since it's reversible that wouldn't necessarily be accurate. hook up the fan to your battery to see which way it turns to be sure.

You would want it to blow toward the firewall, no matter which side it's on.

basically it's like when you are driving down the road, the air is forced thru the radiator. when you are stopped, there's no air going thru so the fans turn on the assist. if the fans were blowing air out the front, it would be fighting the air coming in when you are in motion.

also, the engine gives off heat, and you wouldn't want to blow that hot air thru the radiator.

just out of curiosity, what brand did you go with?
