Hatch full of water! think i found the problem
I was driving home today after the crazy rain / hail / tornado warning today and i was wondering why my rear defroster and amp wasnt working. i pop the hatch and notice my carpet was all soaked. CRAP! so i remembered PatrickGSR94's thread about the same thing. so i thought it was my taillight gaskets. nope wasnt the prob. it was teh taillights itself leaking the water was building in teh housings because of a crack and water was pourin out of the holes. Hope this helps you guys especially PatrickGSR94
Wet amp
Soaked Cardboard thingy
Look its a lil pond
How much water was in my Hatch
the bucket was almost half full and both taillights had water and cracks were the lights meet the hatch.

Mine was coming in along the top edge of the taillight lens, right where the hatch closes on top of it. I put some silicone in it last night, hoping that will at least fix it for awhile. Even if it does fix it, I might still replace the taillights.
Damn... Thats sucks.. Everyone is experiencing the same problem too! Mine looks much worser then that. My tire was pretty much submerge into the water. After days, all the cars seats were freaking wet. Especially the back seat!
My friend said the water, went thru his pant and boxer in matters of minutes. He thought he leaked himself! lol.
Good luck!

usually water leaks into the trunk from the gaskets that the tailinghts have, when they get worn out they get skinny and and break apart allowing water to pass through... but that's just what happened to my car...
Yikes, I found out (from just coming back from vacation that the very far left of my hatch (where the spare is located at) had a puddle just sitting there. When I had first come into my car I smelled mold, or old water and I remember seeing a post back last year around this time about a bad gasket on the taillight, I'm glad were all in the same boat. Well, it's not that big of a loss, my tail light had a big crack in it from the previous owner.. Time to get new ones. These things are expected for cars this 'old'.
