If you have a 2 door, I would mount them in the interior door lining. Their is a black plastic protector thingy that you can use double sided tape and small screws to mount the crossover to.

yea i know theres an A/V forum. I only posted A/V threads on the Integra forum only if it had something to do with the car in specific in relation to the A/V components.. i.e, how to mount to door.. how to mount to A-pillar.. PLUS, i asked the same questions FIRST in the A/V section but either didn't get an answer at all, or didn't get a detailed enough answer. so i figure why not ask the people with the same car as me and hope to get a couple of audiophiles who can go more in-depth with the answer.

youi really shouldnt mount crossovers in a door at all anyhow you should mount them in the car. after about 6 months you will find that the screws are all rusted on the crossover and will probably have some water and or condensation in them so u should run a seperate wire into the door for the tweeter and put the crossover in the kick. thats the right way to do it. hope it helps

Same here. I actually have the same Alpine Type R components as the TI install how to. Its a little more of a pain to have to unscrew the basket if you have to take off the door panel. But considering I never go into my door panel, its probably better to have under some extra cover.

Let me know if you want some pics. I have them on my laptop at home, I just need to shrink them and upload them.

hey integramodder, my components crossovers are a lot bigger than the type R ones. well, i took off my door panel to see if my component would fit in that black compartment and it wouldn't. but if i were to cut two inches of that black things wall off, it would fit (a corner of the crossover would be sticking out of the compartment where i would cut the wall at). do you think i am risking a lot by cutting out just two inches of the black compartments wall to make the crossover fit? some pics would be nice but i think i got a pretty good picture of how yours looks like.. its basically just sitting inside that black thing screwed in place right? do you know what that black piece is actually there for? is it needed? if anything, can i just take that whole black piece out and mount the crossover there? i would put a plastic bag or some sort of protection over the crossover of course. thanks for giving feedback.. i really appreciate it.

The black plastic thingy is a side impact absorber. I cut mine to install the MB Quart crossovers. It's a personal decision you will have to make.

i usually put the crossovers on a piece of steel backstrap and screw it to the door itself, in the area where that black plastic thingy used to sit.

you could screw it to the door itself, put it in that lil plastic pocket, or just cut a small hole in the plastic lining and zip tie it to that.

For some reason I cant find my pics, they might have gotten deleted when I reformated.

Essentially I kept the entire pocket in place and dremeled out holes to allow the wirring through. I think its the best place to mount on the door.

If you look at that plastic thing, its got a plastic ridge going down the side. Try cutting the ridge out and see if the crossover fits... If not, your solution to cut a side is probably the next best thing.
