Default GS-R to ITR Cams

When your swaping ITR Cams into a stock GS-R engine do you NEED to upgrade the valves/valve springs ?

Or will the ITR cams work fine with out busting anything into the engine

Its on a 95 USDM motor.

Thanks

if you're only doing the intake cam then it should be fine, cuz the intake springs are also double like the ITR, but not the exhaust springs, there may not be a catastrophic failure, but overtime frequent valve float or high lift would wear out the valve seat in the head and at the same time cause premature valve spring wear and the compliance of the spring is compromised, they start to yield and become less compliant...thus more damage to the valve seat in the head

I'm using CTR intake cam in 94 JDM GSR. It does fine, no problems. The only time you gotta worry about it is if you have an old like first gen motor.

What kind of power increase can be expected when doing the GSR to ITR cam swap? Assuming no other mods or what about maybe with I/H/E ?

i suggest getting skunk2 IM, the ITR cam will improve your top end, but the GSR IM won't give it enough air, that's my opinion, you'll need couple more things to make it run smoother, like VAFC, full exhaust system, etc, but it'll be worth it, don't expect one single part to do it all,
