There are kinds of myths and misinformation that is passed around about performance carburetors, usually by people who have never worked with one in their life. A racing carburetor and the stock carburetor on your grandmas 1982 Toyota Cressida are two different things entirely.

Here's an interesting link offering a different view/side:

but why??????? where at an age in technology where we can fine tune our air fuel down the the 100rpm increment if we want, why would we go back to cave man status? My tuner w/ carb---"where do i plug my laptop in?"

i was just curious if people did those conversions, when i had my corolla, i always wanted to do the makuni side draft convo, but i never had the money... so, that kind of answered my question as to that...

do you perhaps have any pictures of your motor with the carbs on it?

Interesting, but what are they talking about when they say this:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
So if we take a good look at the carburetor we see its not only a perfect machine for atomizing fuel, it also has another advantage.</TD></TR></TABLE>

With EFI systems the injectors spray the fuel on the back of hot valves, which vapourises the fuel instantly.
When carbs work they have (comparitevly) big droplets of fuel in the air.

Is that site comparing multipoint injection, or throttle body injection?
