Coilovers?
I posted this over at http://www.s2ki.com a few days ago but it seems like there are much more replies at this site. Basically I'm looking for around a 2 inch drop and still have somewhat of a comfortable ride while improving handling. I got a few responses, but not enough to convince me. I'm really considering the Buddy Clubs or I got many responses saying get gorund controls and koni's and save the exta $400. Just wondering you opinions. Thanks

Well I still have the Buddy Clubs. If you want a good track set-up, I see nothing wrong with the Buddy Clubs. They're 16 way adjustable and handle great. However, if you want a more everyday set-up, I don't know if I'd opt for these. They are extremely stiff and loud (at least I think so) as far as hitting bumps goes. I mean I live in Philadelphia where the roads are SH*TTY. But if the roads are smoother where you are, then go ahead and run them. The Buddy Clubs are made for JDM spec S2000's. When they're installed, the nut on the bottom of the perch of the coilover won't fit the bolt of the US spec perch. The nut on the bottom of the coilover has to be taken off and the one from the US spec perch be welded on. Let me know if there's anything else you need.

where you running the buddy clubs? also did u have any probelms with the buddy clubs? im planning to get these or tein flex's, but i need your opinion, both pros and cons. hope you can help thanks.
do you think you can show me pictures of this? also with this setup are you running the sw388 w/ no problem?
and if i asked other members with this suspension will they know what im talking about with the nut at the bottom?
for my koni yellows i striped the bolt on the bottom fork and i had to get the bolt and nut cut off. i just used an external bolt to hold the fork w/ the arms.
right now could be a little tough to get pics but i'll try. well i have the car sitting pretty low and the offsets of the sw-388's (+45 all the way around) are pretty agressive. surprisingly, i only have rubbing in the front when i go over a deep swell or something and the rear (where there's NO ROOM to put your finger between the tire and fender) hardly ever rubs. people ask me all the time other members who installed them themselves, or watched theirs getting installed, will probably attest to the nut/perch phenomenon

Also note, there is a warning sticker on the Buddy Clubs, it is right there in plain Engrish: "Keep away from fire or frame." HA! Funny stuff.

all shocks have a similar warning,
you're not supposed to heat them cuz they're gas filled.

Well, it's official I went to go and get my Buddy Clubs installed today and I couldn't because I didn't have the right bolts. BC send the Japanese spec coilovers because that's the only version they have and when they send the J spec they usually send usdm bolts that come with it. You are suppose to knock off the original bolts and replace them with the usdm bolt supplied. This is what I was told at gruppe-s after two hour wait. They are great, and have great costumer service and I don't hold them accountalbe at all, but BC should have sent me the bolts as well. Oh well just have to wait til next friday. Just wanted to update.
I reused mt stock nut and bolt. The stpcl one is only spot welded. Comes off with some force. Make sure your front is adjusted roght or it will touch the A arm. ALso make sure the back is right also or it will bottom out the strut.

well fawk man,
if you waited 2 hours, they should have been able to chop off the nuts for you.
and you don't NEED to weld on a new one. They probably would have had something lying around that coulda fit. If not a quick trip to homedepot coulda fixed that ez.

Yeah I know tell me about it. The S2000 mechanic is out of town so they had one of the other mechanics working on it that was unfamiliar with the S2000, and he thought maybe it was just a tight fit. After an hour and still none installed we called BC and by the time everything worked out it was around 6:30 and they close at 6:00 soo... we called it a night.
