Default tie rod question....

back home from college and my alignment has been bad for awhile but htis is horrible, like when i hit the gas its doesnt pull to the right like a bad alignment does as muchas it jerks the wheel to the right, and there is a knocking noise like an axle was bad (except the axel is fine, just replaced) and it doesnt happen say if i were stopped and turning the wheel, just while the car is in motion... i was told by a buddy of mine that the same thing happened to him when his car was lowered that far (3.75 in the front) and it was a tie rod end, did the except same thing with same noises

i wanna buy new tie rods and im lookin to get rid of the car but NOBODY would even consider with that noise or drive... just wanted to get a general concensus whether it is a tie rod or not

any1 have a post where to find replacing the tie rod ends?? looked all over this forum but cant find anything, even checked g2ic.com but got nothin there iether so i dunno

I cant say whether or not it is a tie rod end. To be sure, get the car in the air, grab the wheel at the 9 and 3 positions, and wiggle the tire back and forth. The wheel should feel tight, and should not have any slop or play in it. Its tough to describe the feeling, but thats the best I can do.

I dont like just buying parts for cars b/c you have a hunch thats what it is. I like to actually find out what the problem is, then buy parts and fix it. Otherwise, you can spend a lot of money on parts you dont really need. Just my .02 ...
