ABS Light Codes
Codes
13 - wheel senor (open/short to body ground/short to power) FL
32 - solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire) FR-OUT
51 - motor lock
61 - ignition voltage
81 - central processing unti (CPU)
recently as some of you guys might know i had this problem with random swerving to the left (like im using control). i found out that that the guythat resurfaced my front left rotor, he forgot to make that little dent so the bolt doesnt get loose. after about a month i noticed that when i stepped on the brakes (light braking) my abs would engage. after about a week of driving my abs light stayed on constantly so than i took off the front wheels and noticed that the left front rotor wasnt bolted on tightly and dent in. so i went ahead and did it but now im still stuck with the abs lights. need some help, what can be done with this.
btw, i have bleed the brakes and refilled with new abs fluid (didnt work).
i can still hear the abs pump working when i turn the key into accessory mode.

What little dent is this you're talking about?
Just the other day I started having a weird occurence of my ABS pulsating 2-3 times when coming to a stop, right before the car comes to a complete stop, while just lightly on the brakes. And now this morning, my ABS light came on stayed on constantly. I checked for codes but there were none stored. It's been a pretty long time since I've touched the calipers, though. I guess I should check the ABS fluid.

its that little thing that you dent in after you bolt it on tight. hmm if i take off my wheel this week i can show you a picture.
yea you might have air in your lines, try bleeding your brakes or get it checked up if that doesnt work before you have the same problem as me.

i think its the axle nut. after the swerving i took off the left front wheel and found that the axle nut was loose and the rotor was extremely moveable. i think it affected the caliper somehow.

Are the rotor screws in place? The axle nut holds the axle into the hub only, and nothing else. If the rotor's screws are not in place, the rotor might seem a little loose when the wheel is off, but I assure you the rotor cannot go anywhere when the wheel is bolted on properly.
The Helms manual has a whole troubleshooting procedure to find the problem if the ABS light stays on, but no ABS trouble codes are registered. It involves checking for continuity and voltage across various connectors and terminals. I started going through the procedure, but part of it involves checking terminals in the harnesses on the ABS computer itself, which is behind the passenger side 1/4 panel trim (near the right rear speaker), so I'll have to pull that whole trim panel off to get to that. I'll probably do it this Thursday when I take off from work.

The axle nut also pre-loads the wheel bearing. If you've been driving with it loose, you may have trashed the bearing.
Don't forget that Patrick's '94 & fuzzie's 2000 have completely different ABS systems, so the troubleshooting & the error codes are different.

Yeah but what I was saying is, if the ABS light is on but no trouble codes are registered, it's a near 100% certainty that the problem is electrical (a shorted wire, bad connector, etc.). Something like a malfunctioning wheel sensor, or pump motor, or whatever, would register a trouble code.
It better not be this damn alternator I just installed 2 weeks ago (there is a wire that interconnects the alternator, ABS, and oil pressure flasher circuit).
