B16 Knock Sersor LocatioN

Default B16 Knock Sersor LocatioN

I have a B16A and i cant figure out if this is the knock sensor location or not. would a ls knock sensor fit? thanks alot

top is knock sensor*
mid w/ ? is coolent temp swick for rad. fans**
low is oil presure swich goes to oil light**

*i have never seen a knock sensor block but i' remember that it's just below te head on back of block

** i know these are true for a D block and guess there the same for a B

that is where a knock sensor would be. But that block looks like a 1st gen right? the hole needs to be threaded for the knock sensor.

It should already be threaded, I know mine was. and the ls does not come with a knock sensor.

the LS doesnt have a knock sensor. only vtec motors.

EDIT: i guess someone told you before i finished typing...

It looks like a B engine to me. I see an oil cooler. Those came on the B16A engines, so I am guessing it looks a lot like a B16A.

its the bottommost arrow you have on the pic its right next to your oil filter that wire gets hooked up to your computer for the vtec it wont work without it

NO. That is the oil pressure switch, seeing as how it's next to the oil filter, in the oil feed galley...

I think the B17 came with an oil cooler, and some B18Cs also.
