Default Anyone ever put dual exhaust on their Prelude?

Anyone ever done this? I have a 5th gen and I've always been curious if anyone has ever done it. I think it looks good, but they don't make any kits for it. So would you have to buy a y-pipe and it will split at the end and create two tips? If anyone has any sites where they have products to create a dual exhaust or has a dual exhaust already, post it please. And would you need to getnew hangers welded on to hold the y-pipe? Sorry for all the questions, but this site is great about answering my questions. Oh and would it be good for a turbo. I would get 2.5" pipes of course but would it help with backpressure, or is it mainly looks. I'm getting my car turboed as we speak and I'm going to buy an exhaust system soon and I've always kind of wanted dual exhaust so yea. I'm done now, thanks.

I had a custom twin exit exhaust made and fitted, mainly for looks to fit in with my rear bumper but I can't say I'm disappointed with the performance of it.

It is only 2" piping down the centre and then splits in front of the fuel tank into two 1 3/4" pipes of even length. My car makes 185 bhp at the wheels, making power all the way up to the rev limiter at 8k and has great midrange torque so it certainlt doesn't seem restricted by the exhaust.

Here's a couple of pics so you can at least see what it looks like, and yes I love Chicken Fried Rice

Only those confused individuals who've forgotten what "inline 4 cylinder engine" means.

You want "dual exhaust" buy a mustang.

sry bout jacking the thread but i must ask this: couldn't you have true dual exhaust if you made a custom 2 piece header with 2 of the cylinders going into their own downpipe and down into their own exhaust system?

would that actually be possible and make even decent power?

Sorry, I just think it looks nice, thanks for the pics firthy. I think I'm just going to go with my original plan and get 3" piping from kteller and a Apexi N1 muffler. Thanks for the positive comments

Glad you all like it, must admit I was a bit concerned at posting pics as I know how much you hate Rice on here.

Anyway, meltman1234, biggest problem with mine was routing it over the rear axles, this why they had to use 1.75" diameter piping because of the lack of space but 2 x1.75" is 3.5" so you might be okay if you go that route.

If you want any pics from under the car showing the pipework let me know and I'll take some if it will help you.
