'87 LXI Power Mirror Issue
Just bought an '87 Accord LXI for a short-term car. You'd be suprised; the thing is in immaulate condition. Anyhow, I am troubleshooting a few dysfunctional accessories. First up is the passenger-side power mirror. It can be controlled to move side to side, but not up and down. I'd appreciate a recommended course of remedial action. Obviously, this is a small inconvenience and isn't worth much time or money, but I'm hoping it won't require much of either.
I forget, is the mirror controlled with a mechanical or electrical control????
Is mechanical, then you are going to have to take it apart and have a little looksy for broken linkages and such.
If electrical, then it's either the switch or the motor. CHeck for power from the switch to the motor when you put the control down or up. Listen to see if the motor "wants" to move up or down (binding). If not, pull apart and check.

Checked it out a little bit more, and it is an electrically powered mirror. Like I said, side to side works, but no up and down action. I do hear the motor attempting to move up and down, or at least that's what I interpret the noise to be.
