I have it. It's very quiet at idle and not under load i.e. cruising. Good exhaust, the tip is entirely too big though. It's 4.5" wide.

exactly what jackstands said. it has a gentle purr at idle , and pretty quiet during cruising. however while downshifting, or full acceleration, its noticeable.
very good exhaust, i have the prototype from greddy

Definitely check out the RS R ex-mag exhaust. The single tip isn't too big at all and it is said to sound mellow but only a little louder than stock. They say that even at higher rpm's its quiet but you still get the power gains. However, I don't know if they make one for 5th gens, I only know that they make them for 4th gens. Good luck!

Yes, you will be very happy with either Greddy exhaust. It definitely does not have a ricey sound. Check them out at http://www.iapdirect.com Let me know if you have any questions.

Evo 2 is very smooth sounding. I got lucky and found an Evo2 on Ebay for $220 shipped. It came off an RSX, so I dropped 125 on custom 2.5 piping. Overall, I got an Evo2 catback system for a Grand Total of $345. Only glitch was its a turbo muffler and the ****** that sold it to me didnt tell me or was so stupid he didnt know, so it BARELY fit on the car. Still a hellified deal.

Also check into a thermal R&D exhaust its a sleeper exhaust. The tips are slightly bigger than stock and its quiet.

I think all those mentioned are good choices. If I had had the $$$ to buy a new exhaust, I was going to get the Fujitsubo Legalis R. I also love RS*R Ex-Mag's style and sound. Heard a clip of the Apex WS and I thought the sound was kind of flat. Thermal is a great exhaust, as well as the Apex N1.

I'm extremely pleased with the Evo 2's sound (especially considering my car had a straight pipe with a ****** Pilot tip when I bought it! The reason I love it so much is that its loud when I want it to be; It screams in VTEC (5000 to 8000).
